If you are not familiar with a Segway, it is a two-wheeled personal vehicle that is self-balancing, electric powered, and has a platform for your feet and an upright post in the middle with handlebars where you hang on. It is a very convenient way to travel around and becoming very popular in busy cities and towns. Besides being convenient, they are also really fun!
This Off-Road Safari Segway Tour is one of the coolest things you can do here and it really takes the meaning of “off-road” to a whole new level. This is a four-hour excursion so plan on a half-day or so for this adventure. You don’t need any experience and the guides will teach you all of the fundamentals before you begin and even guide you through a practice course. You’ll cruise up the beach in search of the legendary Spanish mustang wild horses. This tour costs $109 during off-season and $125 during peak season. You can also check out the Historic Corolla Tour and zip around through the historic district of the Whalehead Club and the Currituck Lighthouse. This tour is $53 during off-season and $59 during peak season. Lastly, they also have a two-hour Haunted Corolla Tour that takes place from 9pm-11pm Monday through Thursday. You’ll learn about frequent paranormal activity on the northern Outer Banks with a storytelling tour guide.
