Fourth of July Festivities: Manteo, NC

We hear it during sports games, concerts, festivals, and even when putting on a local backyard BBQ…”Go big or go home!” When it comes to planning a party, that is a great mantra to keep in mind if you want everyone to have a great time and it must be what the town of Manteo, NC remembered when the Fourth of July Celebration was planned out.

This year, if you need somewhere fun to be for the July 4th holiday, we encourage you to come on over to the Manteo waterfront for a whole day of fun and festivities. It will all begin at 3pm with the National Anthem and the Lost Colony Choir. Following at 3:30 is the wacky hat contest, decorated bike contest and pie-eating contest. The amazing evening performances kick off at 4pm with Martin Terry followed by Old Enough to Know Better at 6pm. You can also make your way over to the Outdoor Pavilion at One Festival Park for a performance by The Second Marine Aircraft Wing Band. This ensemble of 51 marine musicians will be performing from 8-10pm.

Have no fear, the entire day will culminate in a spectacular fireworks display that will bring ooohs and aaaahs and rounds of applause—they truly light up the night sky bring this great celebration of our nation’s independence to a fantastic close. It is going to be a great day and if you are here for the whole weekend, make it a memorable one by staying at our inn for a truly relaxing getaway. You can view all of our rooms and book directly online. Don’t let the summer season pass you by without a trip to the Outer Banks!
