The Waterside Theater is an open-air waterfront theater on Roanoke Island that is home to the annual summer music The Lost Colony. This incredible stage, which was actually named one of the 10 best outdoor concert venues in the U.S. by USA Today, is presenting a summer concert series that you won’t want to miss.
Live at the Waterside Concert Series will be featuring three different performances throughout the summer. The First is “1964: The Tribute,” which will be happening June 21, 2015. This very popular Beatles tribute group is highly entertaining, has an uncanny resemblance to the originals and the whole family will love the selection of songs—a true blast from the past. Next up on July 12, 2015 will be Jefferson Starship. If you aren’t familiar with this group, you may remember their smash hit, “We Built This City.” This American rock band formed in the early 1970s. You will enjoy the performance by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Jefferson Airplane founder Paul Kantner and fellow band member David Freiberg. Last in the series on August 2, 2015 brings “Resurrection – A Journey Tribute” to the stage. This is a nationally known tribute band from Nashville and their energy is electric and very entertaining.
This concert series is just one of the many reasons you should plan a trip to the beautiful Outer Banks this summer. An open air concert by the water, an abundance of outdoor activities to enjoy, fantastic restaurants and shopping…what are you waiting for?
