White Doe Inn’s New Chef
White Doe Inn is delighted to announce the appointment of former Sous Chef Joshua Thom Morris of Columbia, South Carolina as the Inn’s new Executive Chef. Chef Morris will carry on White Doe’s tradition of developing and presenting an array of exceptional breakfast cuisine, unlike any you’ll find on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Our new exec-chef has put together his own cohesive culinary menu to assure the highest quality food and service for every guest, every day of every week.
Morris prides himself as a hands-on chef who gets involved in all aspects of the culinary experience from freshness to presentation. Morris began his culinary journey at a young age and acquired knowledge and techniques from a traditional French chef which included extensive sauce making and a cutting edge preparation of protein dishes. In recent years, Morris has instructed classes of 15-20 students on the preparation of classic innovative cuisine with a wide range of cooking techniques and knife skills.
Morris created, owned and operated The Black Dog Market, a retail speciality store and delicatessen in Columbia, South Carolina where he prepared from-scratch menu items daily, focusing on the use of fresh local products and ingredients.
“Joshua has a very amicable personality and enjoys interacting with our guests” said Inn owner Bebe Woody.” He has already made a difference in the Inn’s ability to respond to the special needs of our guests”. In response Joshua said “I look forward to growing with the Inn, focusing on quality ingredients with a simple yet elegant approach to the preparation”.
